Busy Bees Preschool Class: Where We Are In Place and Time

This week, the Busy Bees explored where exactly we are in place and time! We spoke about what has brought us all to our school.

The preschoolers located our continent, country, city and the school's suburb on Google Maps. We also located the different birth countries that some of our students and teachers come from.

The preschoolers spent time locating on their world map where their mommies and daddies were born, and where they themselves were born.

Even though we may all have different birth cities or countries, or have lived in different countries, time and change has brought us all together to this place and at this time.

As part of looking back at our different personal histories, for Show and Tell the preschoolers brought along a cherished plush toy or baby blanket to school. They proudly spent time showing each other their precious comfort items, which some of them have had since birth.

We could see how the blankets have lost some of their colour and some plush toys now have a different texture. These are all signs of how well-loved, and perhaps well-travelled these items are. Some of the comfort items had a particular scent that perhaps brings a sense of security to the preschooler. These cherished items have all been part of the preschoolers' growth and change over the years.
